2' x 2' Felt Acoustic Ceiling Panel - Ripple (Set of 8)
Ripple tiles work best when paired with Colorblock tiles to make cutting around ceiling obstructions simpler. Use Ripple to turn a standard ACT grid into the most sculptural surface in the room. Ripple sets a run of PET felt fins on a 2' x 2' base, each fin cut to a different height so the tile rolls like a wave across the ceiling and throws shifting shadow lines as the light moves. It is the most dimensional of Felt Right's five ceiling styles and the one built to be looked up at.
With an NRC of 1.0, Ripple is our highest-rated ceiling tile, nearly three times the rated sound absorption of standard 9 mm felt and a step above the 0.85 of our flatter ceiling styles. It drops into 9/16" and 15/16" grid in place of standard lay-in tiles. Ripple ships flat, with each panel labeled for top and front and a matching layout diagram in the box.

Return Timelines
Felt Right Acoustic Ceiling Panels have a 6-7 business day lead time. These are cut to order and cannot be returned or exchanged.
Will these tiles fit my existing drop ceiling?
Yes. Each tile is 605 x 605 mm (23.8 in square) and drops straight into standard 2' x 2' lay-in grid with either 9/16" or 15/16" T-bar. There’s no hardware or adhesive involved: lift out your existing tile and set the felt tile in its place. Tiles can also be cut on site to fit perimeter openings along the walls.
How much sound do these ceiling tiles absorb?
Felt Slat, Facet, Colorblock and Halo carry an NRC of 0.85, and Ripple’s dimensional fins push it to an NRC of 1.0. That’s more than twice the rated sound absorption of standard 9 mm felt. The result is less echo and clearer speech in offices, classrooms, restaurants and other busy spaces.
Are the tiles fire rated, and what are they made of?
All five styles carry a Class A fire rating, which makes them suitable for commercial interiors. They’re made from PET felt with over 50% recycled content. The color runs through the felt itself, so it holds up over time. Check with your local building authority for any project-specific requirements.
How many sets do I need, and how long does shipping take?
Each set includes 8 tiles and covers 32 sq ft, so count the grid openings you want to fill and divide by 8. Add an extra set if you’ll be cutting perimeter tiles. Felt Slat, Facet, Colorblock and Halo ship in 6 to 7 business days, and Ripple ships in 8 to 9. Because tiles are made to order and can’t be returned, order color samples first and buy every tile for one ceiling at the same time so they all come from the same production batch.

Frequently Asked Questions
Felt Right tiles are premium, sound-absorbing wall panels made from high-density engineered PET felt. Designed with both acoustic performance and modern design in mind, each tile features a soft, wool-like texture and crisp, chamfered edges for a clean, dimensional finish. At 9mm (3/8 inch) thick, these acoustic tiles are durable, attractive, and easy to install.
Made in the USA, every Felt Right tile is composed of approximately 50% recycled plastic — primarily single-use water bottles — broken down and sterilized without harmful chemicals. The fibers are dyed, felted, and precision-cut into a variety of sizes and shapes to support creative wall treatments for homes, offices, classrooms, and commercial interiors.
Key Features of Felt Right Wall Tiles:
- Material: 100% PET felt (minimum 50% recycled content)
- Thickness: Standard 9mm (⅜ inch); 18mm available for custom orders
- Finish: Chamfered edges for a seamless, dimensional look
- Sound Absorption: NRC rating of 0.35 (absorbs ~35% of ambient sound)
- Eco-Friendly: Helps divert plastic waste from landfills
- Applications: Ideal for acoustic panels, pin boards, creative walls, and design accents
Yes! Felt Right tiles can be trimmed to any size using a razor blade and a straight edge (see example here). For the cleanest results, cutting along the engraved pattern lines is easiest, but any custom dimension works fine. For more control or complex shapes, we recommend:
- A serrated utility knife for general cuts
- Standard woodworking tools or a jigsaw for straight edges and angles
- A plywood template and a router with a flush-cut pattern bit for curves
Felt Right tiles have a Noise Reduction Coefficient (NRC) of 0.35, meaning they absorb approximately 35% of the sound that hits them. When installed across a significant portion of your wall, they can greatly reduce echo, soften harsh acoustics, and create a more comfortable listening environment.
For even greater sound absorption, Felt Right also offers a range of high-performance acoustic solutions beyond wall tiles. Our ceiling baffles come in three styles, each with a Noise Reduction Coefficient (NRC) ranging from 0.65 to 0.80. For maximum acoustic performance, our Wood Slat Ceiling Panels deliver an impressive NRC of 0.85. We also offer Wood Slat Wall Panels, which combine aesthetic warmth with sound control, and feature an NRC of 0.55.

Felt Right tiles are designed to be low-maintenance and easy to clean.
Routine Cleaning:
- Use a vacuum hose attachment to remove dust and lint
- A lint roller can also work for quick surface touch-ups
Spot Cleaning:
- Wipe with a damp cloth
- For more stubborn marks, spray with a common household cleaner and gently wipe down
- Avoid oversaturation to preserve the felt's integrity
Disinfection (Commercial Environments):
- Tiles can be disinfected using multi-surface cleaning sprays or non-abrasive disinfectant wipes
- Ideal for schools, offices, and shared workspaces
Felt Right adhesive tabs are conformable and will adhere to most surfaces, including textured walls. We recommend switching to our Commercial Grade adhesives at checkout for heavy textures like brick, cement, and cinderblock. We also recommend adding construction adhesive for secure bonding if needed.
