Installing Felt Right Peak Tiles

Step 1: Peel 1 of the 4 adhesive tabs from the branded liner. Firmly press and rub the whole tab, including the edges, onto the back side of the tile. Place the tabs according to the Tab Placement.

Step 2: Remove the backing, leaving the adhesive on the tile. Place the tile against the wall and apply pressure for up to 30 seconds for the best results.

Step 3: Start by affixing one end of the Peak tile on the wall. Position the sizer tile next to the peak tile, making sure it’s level with the end of the Peak tile. With the sizer tile in place, gently slide the other end until the peak tile “pops”, matching the size of the sizer tile.

Step 4: Press the tile firmly against the wall for about 30 seconds to ensure the best hold.

Care Information for Felt Right Acoustic Tiles

Felt Right tiles are designed to be low-maintenance and easy to clean. For routine cleaning use a vacuum hose or lint roller. For spot cleaning use a damp cloth or gentle household cleaner, avoid over saturating the tiles. Click to download our cleaning & maintenance guide.

What Tools are Required to Install My Felt Right Tiles?

Felt Right tiles are easily installed with a tape measure, a level, and a pencil. Simply orient your first few tiles and then build out your design from there. Most designs can be installed in less than an hour! You can watch an installation video here.

Can I Relocate A Tile Once It Is In Place?

Absolutely! Every order comes with extra adhesive tabs so you can easily reposition a tile or two during installation. If you need to adjust more tiles, additional adhesive squares are available for purchase here.

Will My Tiles Match if I Reorder?

Our tiles are crafted using recycled PET felt and dyed in batches, so slight dye-lot variations may occur between orders. While we follow strict color standards, some variation is a natural part of the process.

Felt Right tiles are premium, sound-absorbing wall panels made from high-density engineered PET felt. Designed with both acoustic performance and modern design in mind, each tile features a soft, wool-like texture and crisp, chamfered edges for a clean, dimensional finish. At 9mm (3/8 inch) thick, these acoustic tiles are durable, attractive, and easy to install.

Made in the USA, every Felt Right tile is composed of approximately 50% recycled plastic — primarily single-use water bottles — broken down and sterilized without harmful chemicals. The fibers are dyed, felted, and precision-cut into a variety of sizes and shapes to support creative wall treatments for homes, offices, classrooms, and commercial interiors.

  • Material: 100% PET felt (minimum 50% recycled content)
  • Thickness: Standard 9mm (⅜ inch); 18mm available for custom orders
  • Finish: Chamfered edges for a seamless, dimensional look
  • Sound Absorption: NRC rating of 0.35 (absorbs ~35% of ambient sound)
  • Eco-Friendly: Helps divert plastic waste from landfills

Yes! Felt Right tiles can be trimmed to any size using a razor blade and a straight edge (see example here). For the cleanest results, cutting along the engraved pattern lines is easiest, but any custom dimension works fine. For more control or complex shapes, we recommend:

  • A serrated utility knife for general cuts
  • Standard woodworking tools or a jigsaw for straight edges and angles
  • A plywood template and a router with a flush-cut pattern bit for curves

Felt Right tiles have a Noise Reduction Coefficient (NRC) of 0.35, meaning they absorb approximately 35% of the sound that hits them. When installed across a significant portion of your wall, they can greatly reduce echo, soften harsh acoustics, and create a more comfortable listening environment.

For even greater sound absorption, Felt Right also offers a range of high-performance acoustic solutions beyond wall tiles. Our ceiling baffles come in three styles, each with a Noise Reduction Coefficient (NRC) ranging from 0.65 to 0.80. For maximum acoustic performance, our Wood Slat Ceiling Panels deliver an impressive NRC of 0.85. We also offer Wood Slat Wall Panels, which combine aesthetic warmth with sound control, and feature an NRC of 0.55.

Felt Right tiles are designed to be low-maintenance and easy to clean.

Routine Cleaning:

  • Use a vacuum hose attachment to remove dust and lint
  • A lint roller can also work for quick surface touch-ups

Spot Cleaning:

  • Wipe with a damp cloth
  • For more stubborn marks, spray with a common household cleaner and gently wipe down
  • Avoid oversaturation to preserve the felt's integrity

Disinfection (Commercial Environments):

  • Tiles can be disinfected using multi-surface cleaning sprays or non-abrasive disinfectant wipes
  • Ideal for schools, offices, and shared workspaces

Felt Right adhesive tabs are conformable and will adhere to most surfaces, including textured walls. We recommend switching to our Commercial Grade adhesives at checkout for heavy textures like brick, cement, and cinderblock. We also recommend adding construction adhesive for secure bonding if needed.
