Felt Tile FAQs
Each Felt Right tile is made from high-density, engineered PET felt that has a warm, wool-like appearance but is also very durable and wear-resistant! Our tiles come from 50% recycled single-use plastic that has been broken down into fibers and sterilized without harmful chemicals. These fibers are dyed and felted together into sheets which we then cut down to different shapes. Each tile is 9mm and has precision cut, beautiful chamfered edges.
Most orders ship from our factory within 2-4 business days. Occasionally, this lead time may be extended to 5-6 business days for larger orders, or if we are super busy. If you need your order by a specific date, please reach out to us at support@feltright.com and we will do everything we can to accommodate.
We ship internationally! You can calculate shipping rates during your checkout.
If for any reason you are not satisfied with your purchase, you may return it within 30 days of purchase and we will refund you minus the cost of shipping (or you may ship it yourself).
Your refund will be processed within 14 business days of receiving your returned items.
We accept orders up to $1,000 and charge a 15% restocking fee for orders between $1,000 and $3,000.

Felt Right tiles have an NRC(noise reduction coefficient) of .35. That means that they roughly absorb 35% of sound that they come in contact with. Depending on the surface area applied, your Felt Right tiles will have a noticeable effect on the acoustics of your space. You can watch a before and after video here.
Yes, Felt Right tiles are made from high-quality, dense PET felt board which makes them simply perfect for pinning and re-pinning! They are 3/8" thick which is the same as a standard push pin. They are not self healing but you can easily use a pin head to pull fibers from around the pin hole to make them less noticeable. You can watch a video on how to do this here.
Felt Right tiles are easily installed with a tape measure, a level and a pencil. Simply orient your first few tiles and then build out your design from there. Most designs can be installed in less than an hour! You can watch an installation video here.
There are 2 important steps to uninstalling felt Right tiles without damaging paint:
Step 1: Carefully separate each tile from the adhesive tabs.Tiles are removed, leaving the tabs on the wall surface. This is done by inserting fingers between the tile and the wall, away from the tab location and gradually applying pressure until the tile separates from tabs. Avoid pulling the tile directly away from the wall in an abrupt or forceful manner as the tile needs time to release from the tabs.
Step 2: Roll the tabs off the wall.Once the tile has been removed from the wall, leaving the tabs, then remove each tab from the wall. This is done by starting at a corner of the tab, applying pressure and rolling the tab off of the wall with your finger or thumb. Avoid pulling the tab directly away from the wall. You can watch a video here!
If you have difficulty getting the tab to begin rolling, you can use a block pencil eraser to start the process.
Felt Right tiles are made from 100% PET plastic, at least 50% of which is reclaimed from discarded water bottles. That means that each 12x12 tile helps keep 4 water bottles out of the waste stream!
Felt Right tiles are manufactured to strict quality standards and do not contain any red-list chemicals or materials that are harmful to human health. Our materials have also been tested to confirm that they do not emit any harmful gasses into the spaces where they are installed. You can find our Declare Label here.
Yes, they can. Felt Right tiles cut most easily along engraved pattern lines, but they can be cut to any dimension with a Razor Blade and a straight edge. You can watch a video example here.
Felt Right tiles are easy to clean and maintain. To remove dust, all you need is a quick, occasional touch-up with a vacuum wand or hose. For spot cleaning, simply use a damp rag, or spray the tiles with any common household cleaner and wipe down. For high-traffic, commercial applications, Felt Right tiles can also be dis-infected with commonly available cleaning products. Click to download our cleaning & maintenance guide.

Absolutely. We include extra adhesive tabs in each order, allowing you to reposition one or two tiles during the installation process. If you find you need to move more tiles, you can always order extra adhesive squares here.
Felt Right adhesive tabs are conformable and will adhere to most surfaces including textured walls. For heavy textures like brick, cement, and cinderblock, we recommend switching to our Commercial Grade adhesives at checkout.
Typically, sound waves will reverberate between parallel surfaces, so positioning them on a wall opposite of another parallel wall will be most effective in interrupting sound wave reverberation. A good key is to install them closest to the noise source.
Yes, Felt Right tiles will definitely reduce and muffle sound transmission from an adjacent space and we have multiple customer reviews highlighting this benefit. However, we have not fully tested and quantified Felt Right tiles Sound Transmission Coefficient (STC), so we want to be careful not to over-promise in this area.
Generally, yes, however we do experience some dye-lot variation, particularly with the grey colors.
Dye-lot variations are typically not noticeable unless the tiles are placed next to each other. If you are ordering new tiles that will go next to existing tiles, you may want to just give us a quick heads up so we can help make sure you don't experience significant dye-lot issues.
Yes, you can use Felt Right tiles in ceiling applications. However, we do recommend using Felt Right Commercial-Grade adhesive tabs to create a stronger, semi-permanent bond. You can switch to these by checking the box at checkout. For installations using our 2'x2' tiles, we recommend ordering extra adhesive tabs or using a Construction Adhesive like Liquid Nails to ensure the tiles stay up.
No, we do not recommend Felt Right tiles for flooring applications.
Yes, Felt Right tiles are made with material that has undergone ASTM E-84 testing and is considered a Class A material for the purposes of commercial specifications. You can watch a video on this here.

If you have a tax exempt or resale certificate, please email it to support@feltright.com and we can get you into our system.
Yes! You can hang photos, notes, and papers on Felt Right tiles using push pins. For anything heavier like a frame, mirror, or tv, we recommend either cutting the tiles to fit around the item, or using a nail/screw long enough to go through both the 9mm tile and drywall. You can see a video example here.
